OK, Well after 2 years of thinking about this, 1 major life change and finally a job with a decent work / life balance, I have been able to get my shit together and I have finally got the time and ability to start the long term plan to get an animated short film into production. I'm going to do the majority of it myself. Adapt the screenplay, Animatics, Character design, Environments, Lighting, Digital Cinematography, Editing, Ok So ill have some help with the Voice Overs and sound, But I'm out to prove that I can do nearly everything myself. for the minimum budget but still get the things looking professional and well animated, To do this I'm going to build the whole thing in unreal as this will save me a huge amount of time and being able to get real time updates to small changes will make things so much easier.

Updates

Ill be updating every aspect of the film below. Production Updates, Workflows, the way I work, Tutorials, links to useful information. basically anything relevant to this project.

Don't Forget...

Quick Tip: If you planning on adapting a story into a screenplay don't forget to ask the author of the story for permission (even if its for personal use). I got so caught up in how amazing the story is that I want to adapt that I didn't ask the author permission, I have now rectified this and have written to her to ask. Fingers crossed she says yes, as I think that this would make one hell of a short.

Where to start...

Well I have taken the short story and have started adapting it into the script itself. All the dialogue is in (Its very wordy for a reason, trust me all will be revealed) and I have done a temp VO so I can start working out the timing for the piece.
